The wedding itself was intimate, against a romantic sunset backdrop, followed by a lively reception. In essence, Kaushal and his partner’s love story exemplifies the power of connection, surprises, and the joy of celebrating love with loved ones.

How They Met

Destiny played the role of the most cherished matchmaker. Introduced by a friend, Kaushal and I met during Christmas of 2020. Our connection was instantaneous, and love quickly blossomed between us.

Despite living in different cities, we managed to bridge the gap. After two years of dating and with the blessings of our families, Kaushal proposed to me in our favorite city in the US – San Diego, California.

While I was away on a business trip to New York, little did I know that my return would mark a milestone in our journey. On a blissful evening, what I thought was a simple dinner date turned into an escape to the Coronado Islands. There, with flowers and candles and overlooking the city of San Diego, Kaushal knelt with a beautiful Tiffany ring cradled between his palms.

For us, our love story is a testament to the power of connection and the beauty of surprises. From a chance introduction to a proposal that captured the essence of romance, our journey speaks volumes about the magic that love can bring.

How They Decided to Get Married

Our decision to get married unfolded organically. After two years of dating, Kaushal proposed in a breathtaking setting, marking a significant milestone in our journey. Meeting our families felt like a natural progression, and everything fell into place seamlessly. We chose to formalize our commitment with an engagement on December 25, 2022, a date that held sentimental value as it also marked the beginning of our relationship in 2020. Christmas Day now carries a special place in our hearts. Following the engagement, we set the wedding date for Summer 2023, specifically on June 23, 2023. The entire process felt like a beautiful and harmonious coming together of our families, making the journey toward marriage an incredibly heartwarming experience.

Mehendi:

Enchanted Garden – The mehendi ceremony unfolded amidst an ‘enchanted garden’ theme, where vibrant flamingos, colorful flowers, delicate butterflies, and pastel shades adorned the decor. The ambiance featured a live bangle-making counter, a fragrant gajra stand, and a picture stand featuring all our milestones as a couple, adding a personal touch. The cherry on the top was Kaushal’s dance on ‘Mehndi Laga ke Rakhna’ for ‘HIS’ Simran. He also sang ‘tujhe dekha toh yeh jaana sanam’ making our mehndi all the more romantic.

Sangeet:

Shimmering Elegance – The sangeet radiated glamor with a black, white, and shimmering theme. The celebration was a fusion of dance, laughter, and heartfelt moments. Customized bar menus, a heartwarming speech from the groom and amazing performances by family and friends added flair to the evening, making it a night to remember.

Wedding Day:

The wedding ceremony took place during a breathtaking sundown, with the palace terrace adorned in pink, and white, and touches of red decor. The phrase was an intimate affair against this romantic backdrop. The subsequent reception was a lively celebration with dancing, a bespoke bar, and a delectable spread showcasing culinary delights from across the country.

TIPS They Want to Give You

Plan Early: Start planning as early as possible. This will give you the flexibility to have things the way you want and secure your preferred venues, vendors, and accommodations.

Delegate Tasks: Don’t hesitate to delegate tasks to trusted friends and family members. You don’t have to handle everything on your own; sharing responsibilities can ease the planning and execution process. For instance, my husband and I planned the wedding, especially logistics, accommodations, and decor, and we were running around ensuring everything was under control until the day of our wedding.

Personal Touch: Incorporate personal touches into your wedding to make it uniquely yours. Share your love story, interests, and passions with your guests through decor, favors, and ceremony elements.

The Wedding Vendors

For the special moments leading up to our wedding, the outfits were carefully curated, each telling a unique story. The proposal featured a stunning Giorgio Armani custom runway gown, selected by my husband.

The mehendi attire, designed by Aisha Rao, captured the essence of an enchanted garden with personalized elements like butterflies, mountains, and nature-inspired embroidery.

Our sangeet took a glamorous turn, with Kaushal donning a custom Armani tuxedo and me in a white shimmer gown from Cocomelody USA.

My wedding lehenga, sourced from Kalki, was a last-minute save after a search in LA proved futile. Kaushal’s outfits, including Hugo Boss and Giorgio Armani, reflected the perfect blend of sophistication and style. The jewelry added the finishing touch, with a Tiffany & Co. proposal ring, Cartier wedding bands with personal engravings, and exquisite bridal pieces from Tanishq, chosen by my mother. Each detail contributed to the magic of our celebration.

Choosing Chunda Palace in Udaipur for our wedding was an easy decision because of its cozy 50 rooms, perfect for our close-knit celebration with family and friends. The palace’s beautiful details and the stunning terrace made it the ideal spot for our sundowner wedding, with a breathtaking view of the mountains, lake, and the city of Udaipur.

Udaipur and Rajasthan hold a special place in our hearts, making them the natural choice for our wedding destination. Despite considering other places like Dehradun, Andaman and Nicobar Islands, Goa, and Bali, Udaipur won us over with its timeless beauty. Surprisingly, even though our wedding was in June, typically a hot time, the weather turned out cooler and breezier, making our celebration even more special.

Our experience at Chunda Palace was fantastic. The staff made every moment joyful and elegant, paying attention to every detail.
