In Ireland, meet Akshay Ashima during college, and their friendship blossomed into love over four years. Akshay proposed by a lake, rain adding to the magic, and they danced happily. Their journey continued with a traditional Roka ceremony in Dublin, followed by a grand wedding at The K Club. Across three days, they celebrated with Mehendi, Haldi, Engagement, Wedding, and Reception events, each filled with vibrant colors and joyful moments. Their outdoor wedding ceremony became memorable when the pandit forgot the Havan Kund, leading to a funny solution with a cake-mixing bowl. The festivities ended with energetic bhangra performances and dancing under the stars.

How They Met
I went to Ireland for my master’s degree during my college days. I met Akshay. We were batch mates and quickly became friends. And after a few months of knowing each other, we started dating.
After four years of relationship, he finally proposed.
My proposal was near a beautiful lake. Akshay had booked a beautiful lake resort and had called professional decorators to create the setup. It was surreal. Even though it started raining at the last minute (I mean we live in Ireland, what else do you expect? 😂) we were able to get some beautiful shots, and we ended up dancing in the rain together.
Roka Ceremony
After the proposal, we did a Roka ceremony, which was held in Radisson Blu Dublin. All our family and friends flew to Dublin and in a small outdoor ceremony, we did all the rituals.
I always knew that I wanted a grand wedding. So for my wedding, I booked this stunning Palace in Dublin – The K Club. It is a venue that can leave anyone awestruck and I knew I wanted to be a princess for my D-Day.
I had five functions that took place over three days.
Mehendi, Haldi, Engagement, Wedding and Reception.
Mehendi & Haldi
Day 1- For my Mehendi and Haldi, I booked another beautiful palace – Palmerstown House Estate. The color theme for this event was yellow and orange, but I kept my dress pastel green.
All our guests were staying in the palace with us. Our day started with Dhol and DJ, which was followed by a night of drinks and dance. The next day Akshay had a Sindhi ceremony, which involved tearing up his clothes, And I had my small haldi and chura ceremony as well.
Engagement
Day 2- My engagement and wedding both took place in the K Club.
For my engagement, I had kept the theme quite formal and I wore a beautiful pink Lehenga. The flowers were light blue and white which matched the colors of the room.
My friends and I had prepared many dance performances, and we went crazy on the dance floor.
Wedding Day
Day 3 – The day started with a beautiful outdoor ceremony.
My wedding ceremony was outdoors and our mandap was set up in the middle of these beautiful gardens, with a river flowing right behind us.
The theme was red, pink, and white. I had matched all the flowers on the day with my wedding dress.
The weather was perfect and I walked down to the love of my life.
The most significant highlight of the ceremony was that the pandit ji forgot to bring the Havan Kund 🙈🙈
It was so hilarious finally, we got married by lighting a fire in a big cake-mixing bowl 😂😂
Finally, we arrived at our reception, we had arranged bhangra performances for our guests. And the night closed with dancing on the dhol and drinks.
TIPS They Want to Give You
My one major advice would be to please get a makeup trial if you can, last minute makeup can lead to disappointment.
Also, discuss the songs that you need at specific moments with your DJ, so the mood is spoiled on the day.
