In 2022, our journey began when Shashank helped his friend propose to my bestie, forging a special bond. Despite the distance, we sustained our love through video calls. Months later, we decided to marry in January 2024. Amid preparations, Shashank supported me across time zones and surprised me with a heartfelt proposal in December. Our wedding was filled with joyous celebrations, ending with a radiant reception surrounded by loved ones, and the enduring love and memories will last forever.
How They Met
It all began on New Year’s Eve in 2022. We had met casually before, but that night felt special. Shashank was helping his friend propose to my bestie, who played cupid in our love story. From there, despite many ups and downs, we embarked on a long-distance relationship. He was in the US, and I was in Mumbai. Despite the distance, we made it work with lots of video calls, virtual date nights, and discussions about our future.
How They Decided to Get Married
A few months later, Shashank visited Mumbai to spend time with me and meet my family. It was wonderful to finally spend time together in person! Proudly, I introduced him as my fiancé to the world, and we decided to get married in January 2024. Even though he had to return, Shashank was always there for me, even during the chaos of wedding planning. He would join video calls, despite the time difference, to help me through it all. Then, in December, he flew down to Mumbai. At the airport, in front of everyone, he proposed to me at 5 in the morning! It was the best surprise ever!
Haldi & Sangeet
Our wedding was a blast. We had a colorful haldi ceremony and a rocking sangeet where Shashank, who had never danced before, surprised everyone by dancing amazingly! My best friend and I danced to ‘Bole Chudiyan’, fulfilling a lifelong dream.
Wedding
On our wedding day, we kept our outfits a surprise until the moment we saw each other all dressed up. I wore the lehenga I had always dreamt of, and they say you just know when you’ve found the perfect one – whether it’s the man of your dreams or the dress.
Reception
The day ended with a beautiful reception, surrounded by our loved ones. Those two days, meticulously planned for months, flew by in a blink. Yet, the memories and love forged during that time will endure forever.
